One of the tastiest blues numbers, lovely smooth relaxed lead playing, a favourite of mine since I adventurously got this LP sent to NZ on mail order all the way from the US, back in about 1973.

I've loved this cut for over forty- five years. Jesse Ed Davis plays some soulful Jazz-influenced Blues guitar on this. I love the feel of this.

One of my favorites forever. I remember hearing it over the radio 40-some years ago on WBAI in New York City in the hours after midnight, with Taj hanging out at the end of that phonograph needle ... Jesse Ed's guitar playing mystified me then, and I'm still learning from it today. He played with restraint and taste, in contrast to a lot of flashier and better known guitarists. And on this mellow little blues, he is playing solid jazz -- sweet, and soulful.

ed davis makes you lean in anticipating the next note. he was a master of the minimal but totally effective solo, this is one of my faves since it came out...

Quite possibly the best Blues album of the late 60s. The electric bass work of Gary Gilmore and the exquisite guitar playing of Jessie Davis [reminiscent of Jethro Tull's Mich Abrahams] have no peer. Add the vocals of Taj Mahal and you have one classic LP.
