It may seem odd but I hear similarities to Nirvana. The catchy, almost surreal simplicity of the lyrics and the equally catchy but brilliant music they go with. Would have to say Bolan is a bit more upbeat.

He isn't very known in where I am from and that is so disappointing. I love music and even though it bothers me to say it todays songs very rarely make me feel like music should. Music is about self expression. That being said it should make people feel emotion and not just be a back beat to grind to. True rock stars, pop stars, jazz and blues stars seem to have all faded into dust. We still have Bowie, Tracy Chapman etc. but the music that most come up with now has no meaning hidden or bluntly placed. The music revolution happened so fast and went out with a small fizzle. It is all about music companies making money now. There are still some good new bands coming out but even though they tend to have good lyrics the vocals or music its self is angry, loud and off beat. Godsmack is a God send and despite ridicule I enjoy Hole. My chemical romance was good at first but they got pushed to the curb. Needless to say those bands only cover Rock. The Blues and Jazz singers of today might rock vocally but they are singing others songs. Originality is a thing of the past. Does anyone else know of bands that haven't faded to the man and still produce music worth listening to?

Such a brilliant end to one of the best records made (Electric Warrior). Bolan really brought it to the table in terms of swagger and brilliance. One of the true great's of music, who created song after song of beauty.
