I'm usually more of a thrash/groove metal guy or classic stuff like iron maiden, but I like this a lot. I like this a lot better than DT, but I still have to say Mastodon is my favorite progressive band even if it may be different flavor of prog than this. This guy's voice though

One of my favorite songs... it puzzles me how it comes that Symphony X never achieved mainstream success, as did some other prog/sympho bands of that time (Angra, Stratovarius, Rhapsody, Nightwish etc)... SX may be the band with the most impressive streak of perfect albums, since 97's "Divine Wings..." until now, everything is, at least, great, and, at most, pure genius ("Divine Wing...", "V", the song "The Odyssey", but the rest of the album may be their weakest realisation overall) :)

Overkill is okay, but Symphony X is far beyond them in terms of making albums that are all consistently awesome. Symphony X, next to Iron Maiden are the best metal band today.

*Symphony X - Of Sins And Shadows*When I'm in the mood for Progressive but don't feel like messing around, I go straight to *THE MASTERS!* Few bands have the skill to play Progressive, even fewer can do it well. *Symphony X* was the gateway band that was able to get me into this genre, and while I might enjoy other bands more now, sometimes you have to go back to basics. This song seems almost simple by today's standards, but when I first heard this song about a decade ago, I was blown away! Have a great Sunday everyone!
