@rockfan7789 no it wasn't. It was a HUGE departure from what they did on Rust in Peace (keep in mind, I'm not saying it's bad in any way) there were some pretty solid thrash songs on CTE like Ashes in Your Mouth, but quite honestly, Metallica and Megadeth did the exact same thing. Slower, heavier, and more mainstream. Read Dave's biography. Even he admits it was a departure from their style, and it only got worse culminating with Risk until Dave turned things around.
