Sylvie Vartan came out in the early 60's when Ye-Ye music was imitating American 50's rock and roll. You can hear it in her early music as well as Sheila's, Francoise Hardy's, Johnny Hallyday's, and even Serge Gainsbourg. They didn't start copying British pop until the later 60's when London started it's swinging era.
