I love this song, but the singing in this version is absolutely gruesome.

É, também tnho q dizr, Rick cantou muito mal essa canção, entretanto é preciso observar o contexto, por isso, msmo assim gostei bastante. Bons tempos! R I P Richard Wright.

This is so sweet seeing Rick Wright and David Gilmour singing Arnold Layne. I love this song. It's got something special I can't put into words as with most of Syd Barret's musical work. I don't want to put Syd on some pedestal. However, his music touches my heart. I never even liked pink floyd in all my life. And then recently I heard Syd's music by accident (I never knew about early pink floyd) and it just grew on me and I fell in love with it. It has the qualities for me that constitute what great art is.

Regarding the circumstances with Rick being ill this was brilliant. He had throat cancer but he wanted to sing this song live on TV for his departed friend. Now Ricks gone and is sadly missed (jools holland is a clown)...

as much as I love Richard Wright, his out-of-tune singing is .... embarassing!

Syd originally sang this song. Richard Wright could never hit the high notes that this song originally called for. I'm actually surprised he even tried. He should have just sang it within his normal register. It is such a shame that we will never experience another performance from R. Wright. He was such a vital part of the P.F. sound. Shine On Rick...

That doesn;t matter "diagnosed". he HAD cancer..he just might not have known it--so his lungs and voice were affected. Did you know he was a non stop chain smoker....that was a major factor. Rick was SO important to the Flotd Sound..yet he remained anyonymous for most of his career.

Even the worst recordings of PF sound better than this. It would be better to be drowned out by the band than have the vocals poorly set up in this way. Some sound technician here fucked up badly, I would have strangled someone after this performance.

Yeah but this was 2 years before he died...I'm not sure if he was diagnosed at that point or not.

it was david's gig and richard joined shortly before...spontainously. rick didn't want to make it into the headline and saw himself as a guest. you can bet nick mason would be drumming here if they had the intention to go as pink floyd (=every member is equal), without roger possibly

Wow..great song but the mix is way off.

It would have sounded great if he was the same volume as the rest of the band, some dickhead engineer obviously didn't like Rick.

It's his band. How else should they introduce David Gilmour's band?

I like to think this is sort of how Floyd might have sounded in a crappy club when they had a few too much to drink in the late 60s. Still Floyd anyway..
