This particular model is definitely more for metal, although you wouldn't think from this video. I only have it on a very light overdrive. It has active EMG pick-ups, so it picks up sounds like harmonics very easily, very suited for metal. If you like this guitar and want to play the music you mentioned, they have models with seymour duncan pick-ups. They're not active, but, many prefer non-active pick-ups for more versatility, and they're still suitable for hard rock.
