@G420S nofx is on an independent label so they definitely aren't mainstream

@184Films Not that ridiculous really. Mainstream bands are controlled more by major labels to appeal to the masses. Nofx and DKM are not that mainstream. I never see them on the tv, hear them on radio etc. Admittedly, they are popular, and well known. But, here is a nugget of info. I do like them and listen to them. Thats just making an assumption I wont like them.

@G420S So what you're saying is... it doesn't matter if it's an amazing song, if it's mainstream you don't like it?...That's ridiculous... So many bands are mainstream, but still amazing... For a punk band, NOFX is quite mainstream... Dropkick Murphys are pretty mainstream... Those are two really good bands... But you wouldn't like them... because too many people listen to them... Fuck... punk's punk, and ska is ska... and they're all pretty good in my books.

@103Kitsune We had 20 ska and punk bands play at a festival at my local rock pub start of july, and it was all FREE entry. So many cool bands, and people about. Not one bit of trouble as everyone was just dancing the weekend away. Just love the music, and the people in the scene as there is no bullshit. Im having ska music played at my funeral to make people smile. Sure we'd get along in real life too! :)

@103Kitsune So very true, I think the fact that they over produce the album of a mainstream band, kills the raw attitude sound of a band! I still listen to Group Sex by Circle Jerks, Fresh Fruit by Dead Kennedys, and loads of old stuff. But I do like newer bands too, just not as many. Most the bands Im into have just been around for years. Listen to loads of ska and punk, and its all I'll ever listen too!

@103Kitsune I did like Offsprings 1st 2 albums, but they went commercial during Smash, and got overplayed everywhere. I like my bands to away from the spotlight so they dont become trendy for people to listen to.
