Love them album. Saw them at Cabaret Metro in Chicago @ 1992. They were all totally drunk and the performance sucked. Oh well, so goes with live shows.

I was having a really rough night about a week ago and this song came on a college station and I hadn't heard it in like 8 years. I almost wept. So good.

Thanks! Love it. I¨ve got a vinyl album. This is not a typical shoegaze i think. This used to be my favotite song on MTV's 120min. Remember?

if we had to apply terms to describe swervedriver, then i would say they have elements of shoegaze, grunge, with impeccable musicianship. alternative would be a good term to describe them at the time, when the term actually described a type of musical style.

the urban myth is that the term "shoegaze" was invented because the guitarists look to their shoes constantly since they had all the time their eyes on the pedals. so yes its not a music related genre but rather a characteristic of bands with different music style but similar behaviour.

Shoegazer was a lazy term invented by lazy UK music journos and lazily applied to Swervedriver, Jesus and Mary Chain and any other band with more than two guitar effects pedals which didn't fit neatly into their genre pigeonhole. Pointless then, even more pointless now.

This wasn't considered shoegaze back in the day, neither was it considered grunge although it was around the same time - most people just just called it indie or alternative rock since it doesn't really fit either of the two genres.
