#ACharacterADay Today's system is Cortex+ (Marvel Heroics RPG). My character Monolith from a fun hangout game. It used a different flavor of Cortex+, so I've converted the character (not much of a job.Robert “Monolith” Spiegelmann(Someone suggested “Boulder”, but that was dropped due to fear of “Bob the Boulder”-jokes and ensuing lawsuits).Robert grew up on a farm in Iowa, and as soon as he was able, was put to work. He did not do terribly well in school, but loved working with animals, and with the old crop duster planes (his dad had two). Hid dad would sometimes let him fly the planes, which wasn't strictly speaking legal. It did however mean that when he enlisted in the US army he was already an accomplished pilot. It was when he was active as a navy pilot that his power manifested. A newly purchased plane turned out to be defective, something Robert discovered in mid-air. As he plummeted to his certain death, his powers kicked in. Robert walked away from a totaled plane and a big crater where he'd hit. Officially he was discharged dishonorably, but soon after Robert was approached by two gentlemen from [US Agency dealing with superhumans]. They offered him a place in a superhuman team, which surely was preferably to being without money, without schooling, and with a dishonorable discharge like a millstone around his neck. They could make it go away, they intimated. They could make or break him.Robert didn't react at all well to being strong-armed. After showing the agents the door (with some gusto), he used his last money on a ticket out of the US. He wound up in Gatwick, and to be honest wasn't terribly surprised to learn that they weren't exactly standing in line to hire him as a pilot.Robert joined the UK team for the money. He assumed that a 'quaint' country like Britain would be less of a hassle to work for...Affiliations: Solo d8Buddy d6Team d10Distinctions: Farmboy in the big leaguesThe shortest distance between two points is a gut-punch No, I wouldn't like a cup of teaPower Sets:Rocking OutDurability D12Superhuman Strength D10Superhuman Stamina D10SFX: Invulnerable. @coughcool72 I prefer this to stay as an underground treasure... Only for people like us, who appreciate this very well.

people need to hear this more, one of the great indie songs from the early nineties. layered, shredding, noisy melodic guitars par excellence.
