Beautiful song and I understand why it wasn't in the movie. Tim Burton took a really dark and bloody path for the movie and I feel like this would be way out of place. But that's just Tim Burton. I'm doing this show and this song is the ray of hope for the audience!

I like the movie, but it really misses this melodramatic, satirical, neurotic Johanna.

I recently saw this musical in Stockholm (in Swedish) and they pulled off this number so well! They had Anthony and Joanna on a couch on wheels and they moved them in and out of the scene as they sang. It really punched up the piece. :D I'm so glad that I got see it.

Kiss Me 1 and 2 are my favorite songs in the whole show. It's funny, really, I like Sweeney because it's so dark and different, but when it comes down to it, my favorite part of the show is the optimism and hope Anthony brings to Johanna <3.

By far, my favorite part of Sweeney Todd.

the actors were not good enough singers to do the song and four-part harmony justice!

The Beadle's high note at 5:03 gives me chills every time. Wonderful!

As much as I like this song, I have a feeling the people cast as Johanna and Anthony wouldn't do a proper job at singing this, and the cuts back and forth would be a pain to go through

Just saw the film version for the first time again since it premiered. I liked it then and like it more today. And I am not some musical theatre novice with no taste. I have known the original stage production since childhood very well; have seen it live in concert once in 1999; I own the original Barcelona cast recording (rare); and wore out my Laserdisc of the live Hearn/Lansbury TV performance in the 90s. Burton's is an ADAPTATION of the stage version and I think he did an expertly fine job.

As much as I despise the Sweeney Todd film, I can understand why he did. The two pairs of characters are in two completely different locations, and cutting back and forth would be so awkward, but I can think of several ways it could be done properly. Hopefully a good Sweeney Todd film will happen.

I think it's the best thing Sondheim ever wrote. I was actually mad at Tim Burton for leaving it out.
