this album is also timeless. mainly because it didn't sound like anything else at the time, or anything else you hear today. its beyond ahead of its time. she and producer mitchell froom made a great team, so its no surprise they later married. now i will have to check out nine objects, so thanks for the recommendation!

Agreed. This is probably my favorite of hers and one of my favorites, period. It creates its own unique sub-genre of industrial-folk fusion, self-contained in the album! Then came Nine Objects, which redefines jazz and lounge, hybridizing it with folk and electronic. Some purists dislike these two discs, and reject them as "artificial". I always respond that they are merely innovative, and bring a deep authenticity to aritificially PRODUCED music, which is the point. She is truly an original.
