I especially like this for one particular reason. It's quite common to see videos where Jimi is singing songs that Dave originally recorded. However, it's VERY hard to find vids where Dave is singing Jimi songs. While I do love both singers, to me Dave has a rawness that Jimi never had. Jimi was more polished than Dave was. I still love them both though, and this is one of my favorite Survivor songs. RIP Jimi.

Daves voice is good, but far from perfect. He does well with this one tho, lacks the grit of Jamison on the album version and a bit pitchy but definitely not too shabby at all. Such an awesome song from an awesome album!!!

I come to find out Bickler sang more than one song from Vital Signs. I wish I could hear them! I hear him sing The Search Is Over and I was literally blown away. I wish whoever has that video would put it back up!

@oscarsamadhi yes, dave sang songs originally sung by jimi in their tours during his second tenure with the band. like what robin does now. you can't avoid that when you join or/and re-join an established band.

What the hell happened to that video of Survivor - The Search is over 3.12.94 with Dave Bickler on lead vocals?! I saw it sometime ago and was VERY impressed at how he put his own flare on Jimi Jamison's stuff!

Dave Bickler just blasts everybody away. One absolutely stunning performance. Maybe Jimy Jamisons voice is the more round one, but Bickler is the rawer, to the point one. He gives this song whole new power that shines. Amazing Singer. There aren't made like this any more.
