This song is one of my all time favorites. I love Western them, and the "Silver Spurrs" back the 800s Silver Spurrs were a sign of great wealth, and not many wore them. They were also a n of Honor, and were awarded by employers to Wranglers, and Horsemen for work well done. The Spaniards are famous for their Spurs, it is thought they were the first Nation to use them, and in the beginning these Silver Spurrs were incredibly cruel to the horses, as the 'Rowels' were extremely sharp and would jab into their horses sides, and scratch them to the point of drawing blood. When thy came to America, the Native Americans taught them how to train their horses without such torment. The Spaniards also invented the harsh "Spade" Bit an d many other cruel animal training methods, and tortures. After all, look at Bullfighting. Any this song is wonderful, the lyrics are beautiful the tune fantastic. It sends the mind ito the song ad the Mind's Eye Theater plays out the poor Cowboy's story.
