Brett Anderson and Mat Osman of Suede talk us through the writing, recording and video-shoot for their classic 1993 indie anthem 'Animal Nitrate' from their debut album 'Suede' which was released through Nude Records.

The video for the title track was directed by Pedro Romhanyi. The video caused some controversy and it was banned for its depiction of two men engaging in a kiss. However it went on to win the first MTV Euro Video Song Contest in 1993, and also featured on the 2012 NME "100 Best Tracks of the Nineties" list at number 14.
