On this day in 1979 {December 9th} "Why Me" by Styx entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #75; and eight weeks later on February 3rd, 1980 it peaked at #26 {for 1 week} and spent 13 weeks on the Top 100...The week it entered the Top 100 the quintet's "Babe" was in its 2nd and last week at #1 on the chart...Between 1972 and 1991 the Chicago-based band had twenty-three Top 100 records; eight made the Top 10 with three of them peaking at #3, "The Best of Times" in 1981, "Mr. Roboto" in 1983, and "Show Me the Way" in 1991...

been wracking my brain for days trying to remember the title of this song, so I put in try me because I thought thats what it was then low and behold the correct title showed up. I hav'nt heard this song since I came here in the early eighties. I love this song, I'm gonna play it again hell I may play it all day.

I find it funny that you single out gowan but dont even mention ricky phillips, glen burtnick, or todd sucherman who are all new. They still sound awesome and there new songs compared to some of denniss` solo work is way betterr so even without dennis styx rocks

Dennis provided the drive and innovation behind Styx. They were a really amazing band (in my opinion, the best). No direspect to JY and Tommy because I really like their significant contribution and input. JY and Tommy - probably the two most entertaining rock guitarists of all time. But it's been said before on these pages and elsewhere ' No Dennis, no Styx'!

It annoys me when people fight over whether Dennis DeYoung or Lawrence Gowan is better =A= You can't compare them. They have totally different styles in music. The only thing they have in common is that they're both very talented. So shut up about Gowan not deserving to be in Styx. Dennis has his band that plays Styx music and you have the band Styx. Either listen to both or just listen to old songs on YouTube and QUIT YOUR BITCHING. ENJOY THE DAMN SONG. D:<
