Lords Of the Ring? This song was written and sung about Lord of the Rings. I don't think that at the time any of them knew anything about the story. They just wrote a song that sounded cool. The Lord of the Rings was suppose to be Satan incarnate. They are saying to hail many Lords over one ring, when the story has one Lord over many rings that had control with the one Ring of power that they had to destroy to eliminate him. ABBA sings the song about Waterloo where they say Napoleon did surrender. He actually ran away from there when he realized he was going to lose that battle, and had to be hunted down and caught so they could be exiled. That doesn't rhyme with the other versus in the song though. Then they use the second Napoleon outfit and statue in the video that had nothing to do with the battle at Waterloo. So it is what it is. Hitler was Never a Dictator of Germany, it was Charlie Sheen.

For some odd reason, whenever I listen to this one I can't help but have a mental image of a psychedelic version of an episode of the Gravity Falls cartoon, with animation/special effects inspired by the 1981 movie Heavy Metal.

These Keyboards have gas.....this is what I'm like after a Bacon Burger, Onion Rings and Root Beer Float! I found some other songs of theirs I liked, but this was the end of the run. The shark died and was mauled to pieces by his peers here. The hardest laughs for me began at 1:40.

It actually does sound more like a Dennis DeYoung song. I mean, yes James sung this, but compare this to Great White Hope or Miss America (which were both written and sung by James), then listen to this. It has a different quality about it. (Of course, that's my observation from memorizing Styx's musical style for years). Speaking of DeYoung and rock music, he was the one responsible for 'Lady' and 'Come Sail Away,' you gotta give the guy credit for that.

it's not Dennis DeYoung - It's James Young (guitar) on vocals - but they use all 4 on the chorus - which gives it the depth and is amazing live! These guys are exceptional musicians and singers. Probably not enough Rock credit given over the years because of the DeYoung split and directional issues musically. They did record some great stuff over the years though. This is one of them in my opinion.....

Styx = DeYoung's compositions + DeYoung's vocals + DeYoung's Oberheim synth work

this is also only one of the few moments where they used 4 vocalists on the chorus....Chuck Panozzo sings also...one of the first songs to feature them all singing is Suite Madame Blue...in the "America" bridge
