One of my favorites.I'm surprised that no one remakes Styx songs especially in the metal scene.Man of Miracles as good as it is was a product of its times in terms of production. It is one of those songs which a new band with all the toys could really shine remaking it provided they stayed true to the song.

In my humble opinion, this is by far the best song James Young ever sang.

Holy "Blank" I remember this, Styx at their best, not the commercial stuff that came later!

*Going through my playlist archives and this gem popped up. Deserves a couple notches up in volume IMHO; seriously a great tune for a Saturday night.* #saturdaynightjams #Styx

Thanks for posting this as my cassette wore out decades ago. Can definitely hear some of the band's prog rock roots here, some similarities to early Uriah Heep. Joe Public just wasn't quite ready for this in the early 70's. It really is fascinating, thought, to hear this band how different, yet still outstanding, it was in the early days, and how it evolved after Tommy joined in '76. Critics and fans alike accused them of selling out after Pieces of Eight, but I beg to differ. If a band can cling to their identity while going commercial to make some money and pay their bills, more power to them. Haven't been to a Styx concert yet (with or without DDY), where the power of the performance wasn't their music from Equinox through Pieces of Eight. I will gladly sit through Babe and Roboto as long as I get to hear their core masterpieces.

Lucky you. I lost heaps of my albums a long time ago. I can't even buy this album anymore in any format. You can tell by this album that they were destined for great things.

This came out way before Crystal Ball so maybe 1974??? Just a guess.
