overall?-great dvd as it captures the current band doing what they do best-both the grand illusion & pieces of eight albums from front to back-the video is crystal clear-the audio is great as this dvd does a great job of taking you back to the days when Styx music ruled the land- A for performance-the issues for me as stated before-the towering guitar performances between Tommy and J.Y miss the mark for me-this band is known for energy not that there isn't any-just not enough-overall-B

this is a pretty good video but-it lacks the energy as return to paradise blows this dvd away.from the opening number you notice right away that this is not Mr. Young and that really puts a damper on the whole dvd.what makes Styx a great live band is missing here-the show-the fire between J.Y and Tommy shaw is missing.

actually there are two original members left if your counting when Tommy shaw joined in 1975-all of the hits minus Lady and sweet madam blue were with Tommy.

Going to see them in October in NJ! Can't wait ! Love their lyrics! Too bad it won't include Dennis DeYoung though :(

Be advised that Dennis DeYoung is not in this version of the band. He was the original lead vocalist for many of the the hits and they are not the same without him. I have tried to give the "newer" version of Styx a chance but all it does is make me want them to get back together with DDY. That's when the band was completely magical. Tommy and JY are fine on the songs they wrote and sang, but the rest just aren't the same and I don't like hearing anyone else sing those songs.

Okay, now I believe I want this, but that Renegade couldn't be anywhere near as good as the one I heard on the Return to Paradise DVD! That's THE best Renegade performance ever!!!
