To this day, Styx is one of my all time favorite bands and Kilroy was Here is among the best things they have ever done. It was a very cool Rock-Opera telling the story of Kilroy A.K.A. Mr. Roboto! Tommy Shaw one of my all time favorite vocalist!

Say what you want about Styx or the Kilroy album, but you have to admit Tommy Shaw can fucking sing.

My thoughts exactly. The Kilroy album was not as bad as people made it out to be. A lot of the tracks were ahead of its time. I think TS and them detests it because of the personal issues they had with DDY it went away from what they usually did. Just because it was different didn't make it any less brilliant.

Huh, I always loved them as a kid in the 80's but I never knew they could jam out like this until I saw this video. Great to revisit them with this video!

Probably just as far as they got. DDY adjusted quite a few of Shaws songs to make them hits. Shaw wrote Renegade as an acoustic ballad and DDY suggested it to be made into a rock song. DDY and Shaw needed each other so don't cheat DDY out of his just due. Styx would've never been on the map had it not been for DDY. I absolutely love this song, it's too bad TS didn't. He didn't want to write anything for this album and despises every song on it. Styx best album was equinox and that was before TS.

I love this song. Maybe a street fighting man can cause a ruckus.:)

Shaw is my guy. Time and again he writes my favorite Styx tunes. Where would they be if he didn't join?

"Cold War" is a very memorable lyric with a cool extended meter. I memorized it at age 12, and at 40 I still haven't forgotten it. Styx aren't often praised for their lyrics, are they? I think they wrote pretty intelligent songs! "Rockin' the Paradise" and "Half-Penny, Two Penny" come to mind as well. Totally unique, idea-oriented stuff.

I still can't understand why Tommy said not to put this on the LP.
