I wished I could have been apart of that scene. Now look at New York, it sucks.

I was one of the head bartenders here at Studio 79 til it was closed down by the feds Feb 1, 1980.. I see some people ridicule the place & what it meant & how it did what it did, As if they even know. lol Take it from me, you don't know what you are talking about. The film that came out was so wrong & not authentic at all. This place was a friggin nightly brilliant creation of mostly Steve Rubell, co-owner with Ian Schrager & there is reason why the people who hung out there hung out there. Sylvester, of course, was a diamond, a crazy shiny diamond mind. Breathless is the only word I can drag up hat describes his performances in person. STAR!

I think STUDIO 54 was an amazing place. It was great opening night, then not so hot. Once Halloween happened well... something MAGICAL happened. People were going there as if every night was DRESS UP or DRESS DOWN night... they went "IN COSTUME".... most made or had their outfits made... You did not buy something to wear there. OK many did but the people who went there and made the place great were into fashion and partying... it was always changing yet you would recognize people and I often wondered where they got the money just to pay for the clothes! I made most of my "DESIGNER" outfits... I still remember the people at the fabric stores getting excited when I told them I was going to STUDIO 54 and planned on making an outfit... they thought it was very expensive and over the top... of course some nights I dressed down in jeans and even a flannel shirt ! But normally it was either COSTUME or at least BLACK TIE, which was popular then.

Didn't get much more fun than 1977-78.

Buen montaje para la presentación. Lujo y lujuria de los yonis. Estética (arte) y Política. Tomar lo bueno y condenar lo malo de una sociedad insaciable.
