Love it! However As a Jew who believes that Jesus, ( Hebrew; “Yeshua”) is the Messiah of Israel, its very hard to convince my orthodox brothers that Yeshua meets the requirements as Messiah ,outlined in the Tenach (Old Testament) when Christians , among other things, use the name of G-d like this. The Hebrew name is Holy or “ set apart “ and should not be used common. “ Do not use the L-rds name in vain” Granted I know most Christians don’t understand the importance of this concept, but just on the surface we need to understand that , one of the prophecies of the Messiahs’ return is , the Jews would call out, “ Baruch haba bashem Adonai” Blessed is He who comes in the name of the L-rd” I know, Strypers audience probably does not make up a huge percent of the Jewish community, ( although I wish it did) things that come out of the Christian community such as the use of the name like this, really adds more bricks to the wall of division. Remember, Jesus IS Jewish, from the tribe of Judah. He is their brother in essence—The Jewish people will never recognize him if we continue to dress him like Greek. On any case, I’m a huge Stryper fan since the 80’s and I total get their message and I don’t want this comment to be taken as a nag, but rather, just a concern.Shalom all, and keep rockin Stryper!!5 years ago
