Why Did You Do It

I've been thinking 'bout what you have done to me

The damage is much deeper than you'll ever see

Hit me like a hammer to my head

I wonder were you pushed or were you led?

Chorus:

Why did you do it? Why did you do that thing to me?

Why did you do it? Why did you do that thing to me?

The only one who knows the truth,

Man it's him me and you.

My friends they listen to the things I say

They listen and they hear more everyday

But I know they never understand it

Because it was no accident you planned it.

Chorus:

Why did you do it? Why did you do that thing to me?

Why did you do it? Why did you do that thing to me?

The only one who knows the truth,

Man it's him me and you.

(spoken: one, two)

(instrumental)

I've been thinking 'bout what you have done to me

The damage is much deeper than you'll ever see

Hit me like a hammer to my head

I wonder were you pushed or were you led?

Why did you do it? Why did you do that thing to me?

Why did you do it? Why did you do that thing to me?

The only one who knows the truth,

Man it's him me and you.

I meant to say funky not "funny". Damn auto-correct......

Sorry, but this is "not funny". It's more like 80s rock. Not bat either, but lightyears behind the original recording. It's probably not fair to compare studio to club recordings and older men to the way they were 35 yrs ago.

What worths is that they are alive and reunited! When you see reunions like this, you must not judge the performance, but just enjoy the event! Of course original is better, but who cares? I thing it is unfair to compare a reunion live performed by aged men to their original studio version which where performed at their best!

I agree completely with hybrid 8253, bass line is gone away as drums, too much whaa whaa effect on lead guitar, the song is now too speed... 1975 version will always be a hit

I would not say it's too fast but of course Stretch 2012 sounds different to Stretch 1975 - but I was glad to see the guys for the first time after 35 years.
