Streetlight Manifesto - Sick And Sad

Keasbey Nights

I disagree, but I just personally don't like that gritty underground sound as much. Either way there is clearly more talent in the Streetlight version. Keasbey was the only good album Catch 22 ever put out, and aside from playing the music Thomas put in front of them they had almost nothing to do with it

Thomas specifically avoids calling his music ska (or any genre for that matter) because of people like you (see: Day in, Day out). And I'd hardly consider a band that almost single-handedly revitalized public interest in ska posers. If you don't like it, don't listen. But since you insist on being an elitist asshole why don't you enlighten us all, what do you consider "real" ska?

You're one of those people who try to get people to like what you like because you don't like other people's opinions, huh? This band doesn't even consider themselves ska. Shut up please.

It was more gritty and punky I thought, but Streetlight's felt better produced, and like it had better sound quality. I like the Streetlight version of "Riding the Fourth Wave" better for sure, but both albums are great.

I like how this guy says to expand your mind by listening to LESS music. If you don't like Streetlight that's more than fine, but I like them no matter what genre you want to categorize them as. It's not about being a certain genre. It's about being music you like.

Some cool songs are "Milk", "Crystal", "Healthy Body", and rolled by Jeffrie's Fan club. If you like it a little heavier try "Ska Sucks" & "Skate Rock" by Against All Authority or "Hey!" & "The Vans Song" by The Suicide Machines. Other unpopular ska bands are The Waffle Stompers, We Are The Union, and Slapstick.

It seems to me like there are kind of like a few sects of the ska world...maybe it just me but I always associate Reel Big fish, Less Than Jake, and Catch 22 together then like Toasters, Mustard Plug, and Suburban Legends etc... I think streetlight is in their own kind of sub genre for now but its definitely my favorite and am sure we'll see more new bands with their influence

Catch 22's version of this album was better, but streetlight's everything else is better than everything Catch 22 did after Keasbey Nights.

It doesn't really matter as Tomas Kalnoky is was and will always be the master mind behind all of the songs.
