There is Melodic in Heavy Metal, there is Heavy Metal in Power metal, There is Power metal in Heavy Metal, there is also Rock n' Roll in Heavy Metal, there is Heavy Metal in Rock. @WishmasterTheDark Early power metal. Just because Helloween set the standard of the power metal sound it doesn't means it can't be power metal. Heck, even Europe's debut can be considered early power metal. The riffs are different compared to heavy metal and it sounds rougher and faster in some parts. Stratovarius' debut album has a certain rawness to it that hasn't quite been equaled on any subsequent releases ( Not to say that later albums weren't good. They were just great in a different, more polished way). Tolkki has a great voice that fits the style so well. It really reminds me alot of the first two vastly underrated Maiden records with Paul DiAnno.12 years ago
