Yeah I actually did think it was Kotipelto singing this and was about to correct a bunch of people on here erroneously, but luckily decided to look it up and avoid looking like a fool. It almost sounds like Kotipelto's voice with poorer production quality. Their voices are pretty different, but I think this is the closest Tolkki comes to sounding like Kotipelto, much more so than on songs like Night Screamer, etc.

You can like the original more for it being the original, but Tolkki is a far superior technical guitarist to Blackmore. Dio obviously sings better than Tolkki does. I think if Kotipelto sang this, there would be no contest. As it is, I still personally like this version better. It may just be better technology that allowed for a better sound that puts it over the top, which is no fault of Rainbow, but it still sounds better to me. Kind of like Die with Your Boots On and the Sonata cover.

Eh, it's O.K. It's kinda like when Helloween started out. Hansen was a fine vocalist, but Kiske kind of blew him out of the water. Same with Tolkki and Kotipelto. Tolkki isn't bad in this song, but Kotipelto would've done it a lot better, I think.
