i think Tolkki was the "soul" of stratovarius, when he left the band Stratovarius lost some identity, but without him Stratovarius still rocks! Tolkki era was my favorite because the melodies, lyrics and feelings in their music sounds more intense...

No doubt, Tolkki is a great guitarist but as a writer..c´mon. He writes like a naive 16year old boy whos wondering the problems of the world for the first time. Very cliche and basic lyrics. But a good songmaker.
