Strange Boutique (particularly this song) should've been on The Crow soundtrack. And played in the movie. Why a band like has been omitted by commercial success is beyond me.

The guitar work reminds me of 80's Rush ( Grace Under Pressure ) ....and that's just plain awesome.

Sure a nice song, but not the intensity of Elyria, not the poetry of Fade and Remain, not the heat of The burning season :p Still, love Monica...

*From the Archive*Strange Boutique, *The Loved One* (1991). If you've heard of these guys, 1,000 internet points for you.One of my fave local DC bands back in the early 90's, these guys did killer live shows, some of which I attended at great clubs like the *old* 9:30 and The Bayou. One I recall in particular at the 9:30 also featured local faves Lucy Brown. Joint was rockin that night, my friends.Guitarist. Fred Smith, did some great things with a 12 string acoustic and an effects rack. One of those bands who's downfall I think ended up being the fact that their live stage shows, presence and sound had an intensity and vibe that I felt they were never able to catch on record.

I think this makes reference to T.S. Eliot's poem "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" (p.s. Does anyone know where I could get the lyrics?)

One of the most astonishing songs in the whole history of modern Goth music. Probably in my top ten.

Canção massa, especialmente pelas guitarras etéreas e a voz da Monica Richards. Deveria ser mais conhecida na vertente.

@s4mth16ngstr24nge 88 or 89. They had a self-released cassette that we had at my college station in Washington, DC. I caught them open for PIL at the Lisner Auditorium in November of '89, and I know they had been playing the track around before then.
