Bruce Sterling (famous SF author) once said at a seminar that the future of music will be "Britney Spears singing about Coca-Cola" (music financed by advertisement not sales). That maybe an extreme point of view, but the danger for less known groups/musicians is at hand. So to all those who think this music is great (as I do): buy the album :o)

I perfectly agree that "free" (not necessarily legal) music downloads can have a major impact on groups that sell less albums. Most music companies do not yet see the opportunities for publicity (that are obvious) and see mostly the negative side effect (that cannot be neglected) which can mean that they will be less willing to invest in new groups.

Nearly similar to my Opinion. When i hear...oh, Band "ABC" released a ne CD i wanted to listen to it first.....becuase i dont buy a cd without listening to it in the forst line. WHen there is no youtube, u need to get to the next shop where they sell the cd's Ok, it's a problem that nowadays you can download all songs on youtube...ok....but some could not be too bad i think...

Not everyone uploads every single song on youtube, and not everyone downloads the albums. Many people think "I will buy the cd, if I've have heard atleast 1 song to make sure they are good". 1 or 2 songs on youtube makes sure to make them interested in the band and get them to buy the album.

But at the same time, the longer this band's on Youtube and the more songs it has, the more publicity the band will get and therefore, the more albums they will sell.

oh...i know the Problem ^^ i have the CD myself at home :) But i like the discussion about music and bands here.... although it's a big problem for the bands, i know.. as far as i could see this is the only stormhammer song here on youtube....which is a good sign xD

@ Tarynyel: I am the merchandiser of this Band and I do not hope it. Every video or song at youtube can be downloaded and everybody will have the CD by this way. Than StormHammer won't earn some money and can't create new songs.
