Presenter: Stone Temple Pilots (STP)

Album: Core

Lyrics:

Holywater clouds my thinking

Sinking low now

Keep on drinking

Down you go, suffer long

Down you go, sin make me strong

Down you go, suffer long

Down you go, sin make me strong

You control me, soul you stole, mine

Wishful thinking

Six feet under

Down you go, suffer long

Down you go, sin make me strong

Down you go, suffer long

Down you go, sin make me strong

FEEL WHAT WERE MY EYES,

SINK INTO THE HOLES IN MY EYES

MY SINS HAVE MADE ME BLIND,

SINK INTO THE HOLES IN MY EYES

Dead by dreaming, sleep you steal, mine

Pools of cold sweat

Hatred burns me

Down you go, suffer long

Down you go, sin make me strong

Down you go, suffer long

Down you go, sin make me strong

FEEL WHAT WERE MY EYES

SINK INTO THE HOLES IN MY EYES

MY SINS HAVE MADE ME BLIND

SINK INTO THE HOLES IN MY EYES

Still shackled to the shadow

Still shackled to the shadow

That followed you...

Still shackled to the shadow

Still shackled to the shadow

That followed you...

Still shackled to the shadow

Still shackled to the shadow

That followed you...

Hands down the best STP song along with when the river goes, lounge fly and kitchenware and candybars

Stone Temple Pilots are a mixture of the best bands of 90's, the best sounds of 00's and their uniqueness..... when I listen to them I think it's Pearl Jam, but I feel like it's Metallica, then I realize it's Soundgarden, then it sounds like Nirvana..... and so forth!!!

STP Was so Good! Always want the best for Scott. God Love Him. Sin, Where the river goes, Sex type thing and Crackerman are the best from Core.

You can't tell me that STP wouldn't have fit during album rock radio's heyday. The deep tracks from "Core" and "Purple" prove otherwise.

Man, I really miss the old Stone Temple Pilots. Nothing against Chester, but it's a shame what Scott has done to himself. I was lucky to see them one last time at PNC Bank Arts Center in 2012. Will miss seeing Scott in STP.

I can't believe that this song has been on here since 2008 and has 0 dislikes. And rolling stone said that STP sucks.

Scott has a very unique voice and is a very talented vocalist he might be my 2nd favorite, I favor staley because of the raw emotion he put into his recordings and you could really feel his pain, I feel the same about Scott I can hear him singing from a dark place, you control me, soul you stole mine, pools of cold sweat, hatred burns me, that sounds like heroin withdrawal right there

@Supernal One weiland also has struggled very heavily with heroin addiction I don't think it was till after they were touring the end of core but weiland is a genius with the effects he creates with the megaphone into the mic he had trouble as a kid with getting molested so that carried over into his adult life, heroin is the drug of choice for I would say atleast 50% of rockstars maybe more, some get clean but it is the hardest drug to get off of and stay off of + they let them do wht they want

Love this song.

STP has a distinct sound and feel I never understood the comparisons to bands of the time.

SupernalOne

STP was not like AIC except superficially - Staley had heroin problems, Weiland is bipolar - the first leads downward, the second into strange days and flashes of erratic brilliance - like 'em both, but especially those who love to live
