you added a "to" in where most people do, but if you listen close, its not there. It was added to the sheet music and the band never changed it.... its "got time, Time wait for tomorrow", not "got time, time to wait for tomorrow."He is wishing that Time (as a thing or force) waiting for one more day, symbolically asking that the meeting of a killer and the girl he killed would never have happened if they altered their meeting to the next day, (inspired by a girl who was kidnapped, raped and killed) in retrospect of her death. Its like seeing an accident on the road and realizing if you were 1 minute earlier, you would have been in it also...but would you? Would your presents there have altered time enough to stop the accident...or if you are in an accident if you had just left 1 minute later would you have avoided it all together? Are we trapped by fate?The addition of the word "to" slightly altered the meaning to symbolize he wished time waited for one more day in retrospect believing he had all the time in the world to do something then afterward realized it was too late. That wasn't the original meaning of the line but also fit the song.
