the cover by johnny cash was better. his style and somber voice was more appropriate for this song. The original version by sting feels to lighthearted in my opinion.

Was at a sting concert this summer, was blown away, completely paralyzed, to giant spots litt up the crowd and it felt like two second and then the concert was over, magic. That's when you realize how powerful music can be, best invention ever made by man.

To everyone who thinks the Cash version is better and thinks that Sting sucks: Sting wrote the song first. If he didn't where would Johhny's version be? I like both, but I like Sting's better because of how seamlessly they play it in 9/8, This song must be a doozy on drums.

Some people like the version Johnny Cash did of this song - and it is different - not better. The mood and song are created by Sting. It comes from his head - not Johnny's. Johnny needed Sting to create it for him to have anything to sing. Gotta respect.
