Sting's songs are the musical theme of my life.

This man, this musician extraordinaire, is pure genius. The depth and breadth of his music is ethereal. From the music composition (incredible modulations) to the lyrics to the soulfulness of his voice and guitar it all touches me in the deepest parts of my being. He only gets better and better!

I saw Sting in Jo'burg in February. It was an exceptional concert - smallish venue. The guy has an enduring ability to captivate his audience and it doesn't matter if he's playing his recent stuff or the old Police hits. He and the band brought the house down, what a performer and song-writer!

@4rescue downhill for Sting since the police? really? I think it is fantastic that he has sold enough albums to make the kind of music he wants to make and not what the record company thinks will sell the most. Sting is a true artist and musician

@4rescue reallly mate? twice? you don't have to look at it in a Sanctamonious way you can look at it the way you please... it's about forgiveness. Having said that you are more than entitled to not liking it. Cheers

I'm walking away from this song... it's been ALL downhill for Sting since the Police. Sanctamonious crap like this just prove that point.

@DutchEvilEvi i reaplay myself 'couse i hat not anouf spase you cant walk away from your responsibilities, from your pain, from your dreams and fears, from your thoughts, from life it self, from everything, from anything. you cant walk away from anything. your pain only goes away when you face it your fears only go away if you face it. there is no whay to walk away from life. how more you try, how less it works. (sorry for the bad spelling and grammar, im a dutch 14-year-old whit dyslexia)

there are two meanings on this song, one is about god (@kruzcad) im not religious so that doesnt mean mutch to me. the other one is about walking away from you responsebileties and from your pain. hoping it will get away. it doesnt work: if you try it than 'days turn into weeks and years and years into lifetimes' it doesnt work to keep walking away from your pain, walking away from life itself.

Great song. I was driven away by the "Jesus" references at first because I'm not religious, but I get it now.

@Doregore Is it about his friend going to CHRIST because if you read the lyrics this song is clearly about JESUS's grace if we walk away from our anger, and walk to him in his footstep. It's very clear. And that people are just hanging from a "dead man's rope" if they stay in one spot "floating in space."

@jimitenderstix GOD bless you for your loss. But with the lyrics speaking to JESUS in this song, talking about walking in his footsteps, leaving behind anger, and GOD's grace.. I'm curious how you don't see a faith driven message in this song?

My dad added ended his life when I was a kid. This song takes all of my emotions with what happened and put it one song. All I can say is that I cry when I hear it, but it means so much to me. It has no religious meaning to me, I really can't put a finger on what it means but it just seems to really hit me emotionally.
