I am well aware of what album Alternative Ulster is from. I was illustrating the version that was used and what CD it was from at that time. The CD was given to me after the funeral and it is how I discovered their cover of Beastie Boys' No Sleep Till Brooklyn. And thank you for your condolences. Peace bro.

My bad Michael, it looks like you were right - Alternative Ulster & No Sleep 'till Belfast did appear on the same record - It was an EP "NO SLEEP 'TIL BELFAST 12" vinyl 1988 (recorded live at National Ballroom, Kilburn, on December 17, 1987) No Sleep 'til Belfast/Suspect Device/Alternative Ulster/Nobody's Hero"

No Michael, Alternative Ulster was on Inflammable Material, SLF's 1st album and again on HanX, their live album - No sleep 'til Belfast was much later, around the time of Now Then, just after Dolphin Taylor took over from Jim Reilly as the drummer for Fingers. May your Da Rest In Peace

At my dad's funeral we played Alternative Ulster which was from the same CD this is from: No Sleep Till Belfast. I still have the CD and still play it, but always a tear wells up when I heard Ulster on this set. SLF 4 Ever.

Yea, well people weren't bombing and slaughtering in Brooklyn. I'm sure this version has an entire different meaning to Irish people, a deeper meaning I might add.

Damn straight. I was at this tour and I have this record. The tour started in 1987 (this was recorded live in 1987). On the record Jake introduces is by talking about music that's evolved since they split and reformed. "One thing we really approve of is rap, and since this tour doesn't end til our home town, we thought we'd have No Sleep Til Belfast". This both a tribute to and a parody of the Beastie Boys.

Lots of nitwits posting about Beastie Boys covering. Beastlie Boys recorded No Sleep Til Brooklyn in 1986. Stiff Little Fingers recorded No Sleep Til Belfast in 1988. Both versions are classics, so please settle down. And get your facts straight.

Beasty Boys started as a hardcore punk rock band, they are more then allowed to cover this song.
