Thanks so much for posting this. I have the Peter Allen version, but the Stevie Woods version was the one I first heard during my senior year of college in 1982. It really resonated with me as I prepared to graduate. Somehow this song captured that bittersweet time of leaving college and beginning life.

Here’s a good song to “Fly Away” to. One of Stevie Wood’s best hits. Stevie Woods - Fly Away

He had such a pretty voice. Very nice pop-soul. Very underrated.

I also remember putting together a video master of Stevie's television appearances. Your father was/is a very talented singer.

For real, Cheyenne? I met Stevie in Austin, TX in the early 80's. I was working with a gentleman named Burke Musgrove who had put some funding together for Stevie and helped Stevie get out of a bad management contract. That allowed Stevie to contract with Jack White and go to Germany to perform. Stevie was asked to do a duet with Laura Branigan, who was being managed by Jack White. Stevie opted not to work with Laura. Laura ended up having a hit with "Gloria".
