The song is about Lenny..his ex wife...the mellow parts are when the relationship was at its best...the hard parts are when they disagreed...if you listen on the live album he will say this song is for his beautiful wife...they jus couldn't get along...I have listened to this song so much and tried to play it so many times...but can't do it justice so I let it go...it's probably my favorite and if you listen to Riviera Paradise they are usually blended together on stage...its like one was written from the other...

This is one of those songs that gives me chills. There is a certain beauty to it that makes it unique. I love some of the Hendrix undertones.The "back story" behind Lenny is awesome and pre-fame. I think this is definitely an homage to both wife and a $350 guitar. His wife couldn't afford the guitar that was in a this pawn shop, so she ended up asking 7 people for $50 each. Pretty awesome. After his death this guitar was auctioned off and bought for over $600,000. SRV had a lot of guitars, but only Number 1 and Lenny traveled with him.
