This is one of the most beautiful, insightful, emotional works of art ever created. The meanings behind this song...then stories. I am so honored that Stevie chose to share her love, her life, her strife with the world. She's such an amazing poet. All of Fleetwood Mac is genius, each member is irreplaceable. Thank you Stevie. This is the one song I'd choose to listen to for the rest of my life.

When I miscarried my little boy I was a mess and so depressed my mom told me to check out this song, at first I didn't get what it had to do with losing a baby. Then I start listening a lot and she sounds like any of us who carried and felt life inside us and then its gone. For what ever reason she choose to abort Sara doesn't mean she don't think about her or love her .My favorite parts is" Sara your the poet in my heart" and ,"There's a heartbeat that never really died", and of course 'All I ever wanted to know was were you dreaming" because anytime I was pregnant I use to wonder at what age they started dreaming I lost mine at 16weeks and I hope he was dreaming.Thank you Stevie Nicks for this beautiful song for helping me get through this.

Stevie Nicks wrote this in 1978 with the help of her friend Sara Recor, a singer and model who the song is named after. At the time, Stevie was secretly dating drummer Mick Fleetwood, who had recently divorced. A few months later, Fleetwood fell in love with Sara Recor and broke up with Nicks. He and Sara were married but later divorced. This is a very personal song for Stevie. It is about a combination of things going on in her life, including the band, her friend Sara and her relationship with Fleetwood, but she considers "Sara" to be her alter-ego and her muse - the "Poet in her heart."
