I liked this song from the moment I heard it for the first time, but it grew on me even more when I started to depict it with pictures from one of my favorite comic books. This is why I'm sharing this with you.

I wanna thank my friend AbbieGoth for sharing this song with me.

I do not own the pictures. "Pride of Baghdad" is published by Vertigo Comics.

I was born in the desertSo I know how it feels thereWell look up it's a shooting starBut it's as black as night no starsWell this is the first thing,That I've writtenSince I wrote about freedomAnd then the wall came downWell we thought it was a great beginningPeople were free to cross the lineBut then something happened in the desertSomething broke the stars into piecesWell I live below a great red mountainIn the shape of a great huge beastIn a place the indians call Paradise ValleyWell this has always been my sanctuaryI send that to you tooThere on the other side of the worldIn the desertAnd we are the guardiansNo black clouds just the faces of youSo where is my father,Where has he goneWhere is my husbandWhere is my sonWhere is my fatherWhere has he goneWhat is it that happened hereIs it real This warThis can't be happeningOoh well I need to see youIn your far away warAnd you should know how much we love youThey call us here, Operation Desert AngelThey call us here, Operation Desert AngelIn waitingOperation Desert ShieldOperation Desert StormOperation Desert Angel

I shared this song in memory of Abdul-Rahman Kassig (Peter Kassig). Whenever I hear this song, I think about my friends who have husbands, sons, daughters in the desert, for a country that only 1/3 of us vote. As an ex Navy wife, I have been through this many times, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. All around, a sad situation for our heroes and their families. This is my favorite go to song. Love Stevie!
