There was free will. They could choose right. He can't force His creation to choose Him. He made creation and had a better opinion of us than we have ever had of Him. Yet even when we proved to be fallible time and time again, He came and made the divine exchange. So when we cry out to Him, we are saved in spite if our weaknesses & humanity. He comes and covers you with His shed blood so that you are now clothed with His righteousness and walk in His blessings. The price He paid? The Cross.
