Steve left the band many years ago and was replaced by John Elefante who wrote and made hits with the band. When John left and Steve returned, Steve didn't mind singing the songs that the guy who replaced him made famous. Steve is a real artist with no ego trip, unlike many other well known singers who left their bands and then returned

Really people??? I LOVE Kansas as much as anyone. I've seen them live numerous times. But there is no question about it, Steves voice isn't close to the way it used to be. He used to be a ROCK GOD! Congratulations Steve for your great music that will live forever!.

What many people do not realize is that everyone needs to not have a schedule if they want to enjoy their golden years. That is unless they are just a workaholic. You can do many things at your own pace now. Enjoy. The fans need to let you go too. Your recordings are eternal. Thanks for all the great music.

Steve was one of the best rock vocalists EVER. His work through the years is phenomenal, and we have been blessed to share his journey. Thank you, Mr. Walsh for so many great rock memories. It's funny that he initially auditioned just to play keys.

Glad you posted this...i'll say this, 'he left it all out there, hitting those soaring notes as strong as he did in the younger years. Let's face it, Steve's job as a vocalist ain't no easy thing all these years. Well deserved retirement! He's got my vote as best rock vocalist EVER!

I saw Kansas in Milan (together with Styx) but it was not a pretty show. They seemed to be off and still i don't understand why. Although this is the last memory I have of them, I would like to thank Steve for giving me the desire to study piano and sing. So.....thank you Steve......thank you very much!! I love you!!

Wow, that is sad if true. He will be missed. I got turned on to Kansas around 1975 and have never looked back. I caught Kansas in Hibiya Park Tokyo in 2011, an exceptional show. The Dreamer Schemer was one of America's best prog/rock and pop voices, players, and writers for decades. God bless Steve Walsh!

No other voice compares to Steve's... I will never tire of listening to him. The way he sings "equals" and "youuuuuu" here is amazing. That tone, that passion. So grateful I got to see him in concert twice this year and 5 times last year. Hope to hear from you again musically soon enough, Steve! This can't be the end :-)
