Sooo many tricks, skills, feels, attack, slides, bends, whammy control, scrapping, legato, speed-picking, alternate picking, sweeping, wah control, pickup selecting...etc That's why For the Love of God is a master-piece. I honestly don't think Vai has done anything better since, but, that's just a testament to how good this song is.

Agreed on an early post. One of the best songs to listen to before sleeping. Sooo calming. Seen him on that metal show, always that he was a cocky bastard, but seemed very humbled. I was suprised.
