Story line:

At the top of the stairs he finds a chamber. It is almost a hemisphere with a great many doors all the way round its circumference. There is a large crowd, huddled in various groups. From the shouting, Rael learns that there are 32 doors, but only one that leads out. Their voices get louder and louder until Rael screams "Shut up!" There is a momentary silence and then Rael finds himself the focus as they direct their advice and commands to their new found recruit. Bred on trash, fed on ash the jigsaw master has got to move faster. Rael sees a quiet corner and rushes to it.

Agreed, W&W is Genesis’ “last” album. Apart from a very few iffy tracks over the years, up until that time, they ploughed their own exquisite musical furrow which usually rewarded informed attention with endless hours of pleasure in its complexity and depth, its subtlety and craftsmanship. Accessible rock fusion; superb genre.

This is a rare example of Hackett choosing a very effective vocalist; this guy’s voice actually has very attractive Gabrielesque qualities; shame Hackett’s judgement lets him down so often in this respect cos it ruins some of his otherwise sometimes excellent reinterpretations of classic material.

Well up to Wind and Wuthering, that was the last album before they went disgrace, techincally it was Genesis last album. And the poserfans were never there to support Genesis unless it was a pop album.

this song is my fav from this album...its just so true in the real world with some sentances:I need someone to believe in,someone to trust....i'd rather trust a country man than a townman,.........i'd rather trust a man who works with his hands,he looks at you once, you know he understands.....these words were so true as i developed in the work place and as a human being....damn, peter gabriel was goin through some real hard times and would not tell anyone..so he writes a double album to explain

I own a LOT of Genesis stuff (music, books, imports, etc.). For the longest time I refused to buy Invisible Touch. To use such a trivial song as the title always "rubbed" me.

Again, nice work here. More need be said for Roger King's interpretation of the work of Tony Banks on this album on on other works. Banks was largely the sound of Genesis with Hackett adding those wonderful textures and guitar lines. But remove the Banks sound from either the original Genesis work or this and it falls apart. Again, thank you Roger King for lending your talents to this project and Steve for giving tenured Genesis fans reason to smile. We've not had that for a long, long time.
