Steve Gaines - Why? video free download

From the "Okie Special" album.

To download more never-before-heard recordings Steve, go to the website here: http://foxplay.info/index.php?m=music&q=steve+gaines&x=0&y=0

All rights go to Steve Gaines, The Crawdads, & Lynyrd Skynyrd.

A part of me wishes that Skynyrd put this recording on their latest album, "Last Of A Dyin' Breed". Maybe they should've. I mean, they used Ronnie VanZant's "Travelin' Man" (an unreleased oldie at the time) on the 20th Anniversary album, so on their 40th, why not use one of Steve Gaines's unreleased songs in the same fashion, right?

So many familiar names from the year book pics. Gotta be from Miami or Commerce I guess. I was about 10 or 11 when Steve came to my neighborhood to jam in a neighbors garage in Commerce. The big boys let me stay and watch. I got a guitar for Christmas that year. A few years later Ace Moreland helped me pick out an SG from his dads pawnshop and showed me a few licks..I miss those days ..they were great days indeed.

Simple amazing... That Gaines boy was recording skynyrd Style Muzic before he was even ask to join the band. No wonder he was a perfect fit, from day one... God bless you Kevin elson. When Ronnie agreed to let Steve join them on stage on May 11 1976 in Kansas city Missouri. They couldnt really hear Steve playing but Elson was on the sound board and he had headphones on and isolated Gaines playing. He is the one who told the band just how good Steve was. They allowed him to play 3 more shows. then they ask him into the Family...

I saw him twice, with his band, "Manalives", once in Joplin, and once in Coffeyville.I must have played football against him in at least one game, as well. I remember it was cold, and they beat us.

this should've been on lynyrd skynyrd's "the last of a dyin' breed" album. it would've had them hit the big time for the 1st time since 1977, man!

so do i. i would've loved 2 have had him teach me a few things about the guitar (i've been playing for almost 7 years now, and am trying to achieve a sound that is a mix of steve gaines, allen collins, gary rossington, george harrison, stevie ray vaughan, john mayer, & tyler bryant).
