LYRICS:

There's a hole in my shoe but I don't mind

'Cause it keeps me connected to the ground when I'm

Feelin' like maybe if I ain't careful I'll just blow away

Then the lightnin' strikes the thunder rolls and I'm ok

Everywhere I go

People pass me by

They never know 'cause I'm

Invisible

A shadow hangin' low

A footstep just behind

They carry on but I'm

Invisible

I'm taking my time but I ain't slow

'Cause it ain't like I got anyplace else to go

But there's ghosts in these streets and they're callin' my name

And I follow 'em down in the dark again

An angel bendin' down

To whisper in your ear

You turn around but we're

Invisible

A rumble underground

Your deepest darkest fear

You hear the sound but they're

Invisible

Brother can you spare

A dollar and a dime?

The cupboard's bare and I'm

Invisible

Travel anywhere

You won't ever find

A purer heart 'cause mine's

Invisible

I'm invisible

You can certainly see that as Steve lived his life, he continued to watch the parade pass before him and he paid close attention to that which he saw. It definitely reflects is his music. If this song doesn't move you, than nothing can.

I've been in the situation like this where I felt so invisible to the world, it takes time to get back on your feet and i'm still struggling to this day even when I have roof over my head, thank you for making this video,

It's sad the world doesn't stop for one person. It appears that way and yet this song exists. Good stuff.

I'm dubbing Monday, #HaveAHeartMondayAs it gets colder out, let's not let them be invisible. Steve Earle is great. I highly recommend his last album, *The Low Highway*

When you have nothing and everyone see you as a beast...a little help could change your lifehow many of us had a bad time where the street was the unique solution ?Revive after that alone is a myth. No one want you.Man this sound touched me. Thank you.

I have loved his music since GT, but he was a shell of the man he is today. What a great video and song. I will have to buy this.

Steve Earle is underrated. His drug use in the late 80's and early 90's kept him from becoming huge. Outspoken, but you have to love his honesty. Hell of a nice guy to meet too.

On a way to the Steve Earle concert last night we saw a homeless girl, we were at the lights I opened the window, the lights changed, she came from her sitting position to the car window and thanked us for the money, then we went onto the concert and our reward was seeing Steve Earle singing Invisible.

I heard this song many of times but did not realize it was Steve Earl. No wonder I liked to so well. If this doesn't tug at your heart strings...nothing will.

Excellent video, directed by Tim Blake Nelson, who wrote and directed the film, Leaves Of Grass. Steve's part in that film was written specifically for him by Nelson.
