Steve Earle - Feel Alright (w/Lyrics)

Feel Alright

(Steve Earle)

I was born my papa's son

A wanderin' eye and a smokin' gun

Now some of you would live through me

Lock me up and throw away the key

Or just find a place to hide away

Hope that I'll just go away

I feel alright -- I feel alright tonight

I'll bring you precious contraband

And ancient tales from distant lands

Of conquerors and concubines and

Conjurers from darker times

Betrayal and conspiracy

Sacrilege and heresy

I got every thing you wont or need

Your darkest fear, your fondest dream

I ask you questions, tell you lies

Criticize and sympathize

Be careful what you wish for friend

Because I've been to hell and now I'm back again

I feel alright -- I feel alright tonight (x2)

And i feel alright, feel alright

The wire is actually a pretty realistic portrait of Baltimore in the mid 90s.

Steve Earle was so good in Snape Maltings. Everyone is recommending The Wire so I might watch it.

Back when Stringer was a shrewd, doublehard bastard and Marlo Stansfield were just words in a madman's dream.

This song is the sound track of my life. The Wire?...never watched it. I lived my life like the song. Why would I want to watch a box and fantasize?.,besides the song was out way before the show. I knew who Steve Earle was when he was 19 and Elvis passed on his songs. 88 came around..and like this song..told it how it was. To easy!

Just finished The Wire's Season 2, and please don't hate me but i fucking loved it. Really, i don't see why people hate it and i'd actually love for someone to tell me why they hate it, i actually prefer Season 2 over Season 1 (but of course since season 1 was the introduction i think that doesn't mean much). In any ways, i'm fucking loving the series and actually think it's better than even Breaking Bad that used to be my all time favorite show.

"First of all - and I don't know how to tell you this without hurting you deeply, but first of all - you happen to be white. I'm talkin' raised on Rapolla Street white, where your mama used to drag you down to St. Casimir's just like all the other little pisspants on the block. Second, I'm also white. Not "hang-on-the-corner, don't-give-a-fuck white," but "Locust Point I.B.S. Local 47 white." I don't work without no fuckin' contract, and I don't stand around listenin' to horseshit excuses like my cousin Ziggy, who, by the way, is still owed money by you and all your down, street-wise wiggas."
