One of my favourite Bananarama tracks, the Please Yourself album being the basis for almost all of the Steps material. PW codenamed the album AbbaBanana due to the Abba influences on it. The Nana's version is better, but probably because it was chosen for a single release rather than an album filler as is the Steps one, this could have been as almost as good with a remix. One of the great shames about PWL of this period was the lack of the 12" versions of the quality that their 80s records had- the Hammond, Harding, Ford etc mixes- they'd spend up to a few days doing that, these mixes are the sort the would take me a few hours tops. I still think that PWL should make the a cappellas available for today's DJs and producers to tinker with, it would likely mean some new remixes by the big name PWL mixers as well as fan ones. A Matt Pop mix of this album would be fantastic!

I prefer Bananarama's version.

this version sounds more christmasy than the bananarama version, but the original version was more mellow and soulful because of the girls' vocals
