saw them at the great american music hall in SF, had the luck to watch the movie premiere 2 months before that in Paris with david Grisman, jean marie Redon and the late mick Larie, french bluegrass banjo and mando masters, Good times....

I saw Grisman play this with John Jorgenson at Yoshi's in Oakland in 2011. Definitely a peak experience, and completely unexpected. It was amazing to experience in person something that I had literally resigned myself to never seeing live.

Unfortunately, they never released the soundtrack of that film, damn it. I've been waiting 35 years for them to. Around the time Grisman and Grappelli collaborated on that, they played in SF and the show was broadcast on King Biscuit. I was lucky enough to be right down front for this show at Paul Masson(and actually placed the heaters in the picture on the stage)
