A song that I am about to play is from a band by the name of Step Zero. However, A few words were asked to be said about the band in general as well as one of its members.
Step Zero is a band that can't exactly be placed into a genre, their songs can range from very light rock mixed with various electronic elements to as far as heavy rock or what some describe as metalcore. The band itself has evolved over the past 6 years, they have made demo instrumentals for the WWE, voted as one of the top 30 in Linkin Park's catalyst contest, and their DJ has even been featured on Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park's website. The band has performed collaborations with other independent artists such as Niroshan as well as forming friendships with people like the former lead singer of the certified gold band, Adema.
Their new song which will be playing shortly combines elements from all of those experiences and while the band has been celebrating their radio play from their newest single, the band also unfortunately has to celebrate the short-lived life of their band member, Aric Fleury. Aric tragically and unexpectedly passed away this past Tuesday, January 31st. He is survived by his wife Jenn, his lovely baby daughter Juno, his parents Dennis and Tanya, and his brother Marc. His bandmates, Martin and Matt, along with his friends, family and fans all mourn the unfortunate loss of this passionate musician, father, and son. Step Zero's newest single, Adaptation, from their upcoming studio album is a song that Aric not only personally picked out as their first single before he passed away but he also wrote all of the guitars and a lot of the drum programming for this song. Tonight, this isn't just an airing of their single, but a dedication to the life of Aric Fleury, a man loved by so many.
