I love Steely Dan. But his voice is straining here.

I kinda got to laugh man. When I was listening to this and Weather Report back in 79 as kid, all the rage was punk and grunge shight: Never could rap my head around that nihist shit but I sure dig this. Plus Wayne Shorter plays on "Aja". Yeah!

Except for the 2 or 3 core (Becker and Fagan are all I can think of right now, but I'm pretty sure there was a 3rd), they only used studio musicians. Nobody else could keep up with them. Their stuff was improv'd by a couple of beatniks and there was not an "orig".

Fuck, they have a fucking ARMY and they still don't come close to the original. This sounds like a high school band.

Can do without the cheesy echo on Fagen's vocals (inexplicably dumped halfway through). Plus, his jaded delivery. Acknowledge your hits, dude, don't deprecate them by poor delivery. We love them even if you hate them. And the sax solo is a jerkoff. Were they serious????

It's too bad that this was the only hit they really had. I don't think any other songs made it into the top 100, and this was the only one that got any radio air time. I am sure everyone will agree with me.

'So beautiful. 'All of it. The sax solo was (for me) way beyond the one on the record.

Excellent live re-creation of this 1970's classic. Had this on my turntable continuously in 1978!
