I dont usually like Bee Gees music, but the BSO they did for Staying Alive Film is really really good....I love that song...it makes me feel special woman...that tone is abolutely great..

when It sounds that song on the film is when laura and tony had they first appointment...they go thourgh new york city,talking,walking..while the attraction and wishes appears...

we can say this is a blue eyed soul 80s song.

Sly Stallone has done it all. Even though the movie was somewhat below expectations after SNF, this song is great and definitely an underrated tune by the bee gees that got minimal radio playing time.

I watched Staying Alive (the movie) on DVD recently. This song and all the Bee Gees songs were poorly used in the film. The Gibb Brothers sound different here, but they're the best group of all time. In this song, I notice Maurice's voice highlighted in the "over me is where you should be's.

You know, i saw this movie a million times, as well as Saturday Night Fever when I was  kid. You don't really actually pay attention to the point of the stories when you're a kid. You're just watching good movies. But I watched  them with my mother the other day again, both of them. She's a huge fan too. We came to the realization that both movies are actually the same thing haha! Just different in terms of the times in Tony's life. For example, in Saturday Night Fever, Tony is 19 and still trying to figure out what he wants to do, and realizes it has to do with dancing. He has a girl that's crazy about him (Anette) and he ignores profusely. But he's AFTER a girl that's PRETENDING to be rich and sophisticated (Stephanie). He realized in the end that it can't go anywhere with Stephanie because she herself has no clue what she's doing. In Staying Alive, Tony is about 24 or 25 (the story takes place 5 years later), and he's moved to Manhattan trying to "make it on his own", basically doing what Stephanie did in Saturday Night Fever, except Tony is making a serious effort to be SERIOUSLY cultured, and not PRETEND cultured like Stephanie from part 1. He has a girl that's crazy about him (Jacky) and he ignores profusely. But he's AFTER a girl that's FOR REAL rich and sophisticated (Laura). He realizes that in the end that it can't go anywhere with Laura because she is only about games. Two great movies and pretty damn accurate about the adventures of a young man in his early 20s trying to figure out what's what.

"Over you is where I should be . . . under me is where you should be" . . . some pretty SEXY lyrics there, guys!  I'm not complaining, though.  The Bee Gees knew how to write sexy lyrics without being downright blatant and disgusting like a lot of the music these days.

Been lookiing for this album for some time now. just love John Travolta, Cynthia Rhodes who is a phenomenial singer and the feisty Ms Finola Hughes what a great lineup of acting and dancing Tony really nails it on the last part of him dancing with Laura he is sensational it is still exciting even after all these years. Way to go Classic.

Underrated? One of the most sold albums of all time? Or do you mean because of age?
